The confusion is that some players are confusing advertising revenue (which comes from streaming to viewers) with a salary (which typically has a contract and guaranteed money). He's not particulary good in wow but he's promoting Razer and he's working for them and using his youtube success to also earn money from youtube/google.ĭuring the last Paragon stream their raidleader said that only a few of them actually are "sponsored" or payed by their organisation. I'm sure it's possible but you're not "just playing wow" you're more a salesman for your sponsors than a gamer, take for instance Swifty. Has a few of their members fulltime "wow gamers", although those few are representants of their sponsors so they have to travel to conventions, run their website and do numerous interviews each week to many "gaming" websites aswell as they edit videos and make guides and so on.Īs far as i know there's noone fully living off just playing PvE WoW, there's a few that do so in PvP but those again are living more of the tournament rewards rather than a set ammount of sponsorship money each month.
